Safety Tips on How to Avoid Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
It is still unknown what causes Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), but here are a few safety tips to try and prevent it: always place baby in a safety approved crib with a firm and tight fitting crib mattress. Baby should be laying face up and never place baby on a soft surface or waterbed. Remove all stuffed toys and loose bedding such as pillows and blankets. Be careful not to over dress your baby ( sleep sack recommended). Using a pacifier has been linked to lowering the risk of SIDS.
